Eating out in the capital

Rua Da Carreira, in Funchal centre, is a pleasant pedestrianised street with half a dozen or so restaurants of good standard.

It is two streets behind Avenue Arriaga (which has the Ritz cafe bar and taxi rank by a small park on it).
